Arts Flight will launch on November 5 from 4-7 pm in Downtown Issaquah. This event will feature a 30-40-minute experience at 4 different organizations that have artistic elements:
- Take a piano lesson at Puget Sounds Piano;
- Create and fire beads at Art by Fire;
- Draw a self-portrait at artEAST; and
- Explore the freedom and soul-stirring movement of Nia style dance at Studio Issaquah.
The event marks the first time that the four organizations have worked together to build an event. “Fortunately, we were able to turn to the Downtown Issaquah Association, who have been generous with their expertise in planning and executing events in Downtown Issaquah,” Carla Villar, Executive Director of artEAST, explains. “They have helped to turn a new, collaborative idea into a fun, new reality.”
The name Arts Flight was suggested by Shannon Keeler, owner of Puget Sounds Piano, and “Everyone immediately knew it was the right name. Just like sampling a flight of wine, participants will be able to sample different artistic experiences to find the ones that best suit their tastes,” Karen Donovan, Executive Director of the Downtown Issaquah Association, shared.
To add to the experience, Village Theatre will have a drawing for 2 free tickets for
Singin’ In The Rain and will receive 20% off tickets to any performance of the show.
Tickets are available through the Downtown Issaquah Association at
https://tinyurl.com/z92eqpd. Tickets are $75 each and includes 4, 2-oz pours of wine from Capri Cellars to complete your flight experience. Participants should plan to bring their own glass and arrive at the Historic Shell Station between 3:30 and 4 to pick up their flight passport.
