Galileo Tan, Program Manager, Harborstone Credit Union
Galileo has been a resident of Washington for the past five years, currently living in West Seattle. Growing up as part of an Army family, he spent the majority of his childhood in Germany. Twelve years ago, Galileo began his career in the financial service industry in Honolulu, Hawaii, after graduating from the University of Hawaii. Working his way up, he started out as a summer intern and then joined a local bank full time after earning his degree. Galileo received a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the Shidler School of Business at the University of Hawaii’s Manoa campus. Currently, Galileo serves on the boards of both the Filipino Chamber of Commerce of the Pacific Northwest and the Boys and Girls Clubs of King County. It may sound cliché, but Galileo’s passion lies in helping businesses and watching their growth and success over time. He takes pride in helping businesses get financing to establish new locations and feels proud driving by a business’s new location knowing that he helped contribute to its existence. Galileo says, “Small businesses truly are the backbone of the American economy, and it’s such a rewarding experience to know that you played a role in the continued growth of the community.” In addition to spending time with his family, Galileo’s passions outside of work include reading, watching movies, following a variety of sports, and painting model miniatures. Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Chris made the move to Washington state and has lived in Issaquah for more than seven years. After beginning his career in the financial service industry as a mortgage broker in 1997, he knows a thing or two about finances. As the manager of the Issaquah branch, Chris works tirelessly to help anyone with their finances, and builds relationships to help them succeed financially now and in the future. Being a commissioner on the city’s Economic Vitality Committee, Economic Development, with the Issaquah Chamber has allowed him to make connections to those he serves and contribute to the success of the community. When he’s not working, Chris enjoys spending time watching his daughters playing softball and basketball, spending time with his family and friends. You can also find him at the BBQ, cooking up delicious food for his family and friends.
