Families, pitch your tent at Camp S’more at Lake Samm!
It’s a hot summer night and the best place to be is right on the beach or under a shady tree at Lake Sammamish State Park. Now, for the first time, families will be able to pitch a tent and stay all night!
Camp S’more is for first-time campers or those with experience who just want a simple night under the stars. All they’ll need to bring is a tent (or RV) and bedding! A BBQ dinner and a light breakfast will be provided. There is fun included, too! Prizes will be awarded in the tent decorating contest and the sand castle building contest. Bring your smart phone for geocaching instruction. For a moderate fee, take an evening kayak tour with Issaquah Paddlesports (limited availability). Cook marshmallows for s’mores over the beach campfire (provided) while singing camp songs or listening to a storyteller. Early risers are invited to join in the 6:30 a.m. bird walk.
Cost is $40 per tent or RV, plus $15 per person. Campers will also need a Discover Pass or pay the $10 daily entrance fee.
The Aug. 5 event will begin with tent set-up and registration 3-5 p.m. Tents must be down by 10 a.m. Sunday. No pets are allowed.
There are limited tent spaces allowed; pre-registration and payment is required. Learn more at LakeSammamishFriends.com. Ticketing is available on Eventbrite.
