Grandparents Day: A Generation Celebration at Lake Sammamish State Park
Come out to Lake Sammamish State Park on Sunday, September 12th for Grandparents Day 2021. Celebrate the special connection between grandparents and children with fun activities, card making, a photo booth, musical acts and a special surprise between 1pm-4pm. Sammy the Salmon will also be at the park from 1:30pm-3:30pm.
You can also stroll through the park on our "Grandparents Day Walk" set up between September 10 through the 19th with inspiring signs to help guide the way. The walk begins at Sunset Beach.
Grandparents and children have a special connection that is proven to both make grandparents live longer, and to also make children more emotionally resilient. Take this opportunity to treasure that connection and spend some quality family time together.
Lake Sammamish State Park is the perfect place to recreate outdoors and enjoy the best of Northwest nature. Friends of Lake Sammamish State Park has created a series of do-it-yourself “Walks in the Park” to educate, entertain and bring people outside in a safe way in 2021, each with a different theme.
The Grandparent’s Day Walk is brought to you by Visit Issaquah, Aegis of Issaquah, Sunrise Senior Living, The Timbers, Issaquah Gardens, Providence Point Kiwanis, Morningstar of Kirkland, the Downtown Issaquah Association and Friends of Lake Sammamish State Park.
Friends of Lake Sammamish State Park, founded in 2013 by a group of concerned citizens, is a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to enhancing and improving Lake Sammamish State Park for the benefit of the entire community.
