Kids Bike Safety Rodeo
Sunday May 6
Issaquah Community Center
April 10, 2018 Issaquah, WA – On Sunday, May 6th from 9:00 – 12:00 pm. the Downtown Issaquah Association, in partnership with the City of Issaquah, will host a Kids Bike Safety Rodeo at the Issaquah Community Center. The event aligns with National Bike to School Day, May 9th and provides children with a fun opportunity to learn about bike safety, riding skills and proper helmet fitting.
Many kids are not wearing the right size or a properly fitted helmet. A limited number of children’s helmets will be distributed FREE of charge at this event. If your child has a helmet, parents are encouraged to bring their child and their helmet for a free helmet check and fitting.
Bicycle Center of Issaquah will be performing bike safety checks and the Issaquah Police Department will be hosting a bike safety riding course. The Kids Bike Safety Rodeo will also include local vendors, music and raffle prizes. This is a Zero Waste, Zero Cost event, bring a refillable water bottle and receive a raffle ticket.
The Bike Rodeo is a great way to get children engaged in bicycling and a fun way to teach them safe riding skills. The Downtown Issaquah Association and the City of Issaquah have goals to promote ‘active transportation’ and are pleased to help provide youth with this unique opportunity to become more involved in bicycling.
The Kids Bike Rodeo will be held at the Issaquah Community Center located at 301 Rainier Blvd S. in Issaquah from 9am – 12pm. More information can be found by visiting www.downtownissaquah.com or by contacting the Downtown Issaquah Association at 425/391-1112
