Issaquah is making music on June 21 in celebration of Make Music Day – a free celebration of music open to every kind of musician, young and old, amateur and professional. All the performances are free and open to the public. None of the performers are paid and all contribute their time for free.
Launched in 1982 in France as the Fete de la Musique, it is now held on the same day in more than 700 cities and 120 countries. Entire communities come out to listen, dance, and join in making music. Each community organizes its own events, and each celebration has a distinct expression.
JOIN US FOR THE LOUIE LOUIE FLASH MOB!! Everyone is invited to the All Instrument Flash Mob on the steps of City Hall 5:45 p.m. performing Louie, Louie. Join in the fun – bring your instruments and let’s make some beautiful music together.
Musicians are taking to the streets in Downtown Issaquah from 4:00 – 8:00 pm. There will be several outdoor performance areas and many non-traditional indoor spots. Outdoor areas include historic Shell Station, City Hall steps, Library corner and Music & Arts Stage.
