Sunset Meet and Greet at the Beautiful Lake Sammamish Bath House
Many of you may not realize that Lake Sammamish State Park has been annexed in to the City of Issaquah as of this February. While it remains a state park, becoming part of Issaquah’s official footprint means we get to embrace it as our waterfront, invest in it, have a say in what transpires at the park and to help keep it safe for all users. Very few communities have such a waterfront treasure and beautiful park asset as Lake Sammamish.
For this reason, the Greater Issaquah Chamber of Commerce is encouraging the public to get involved and help make a difference now, and well into the future.
Typically, the Chamber does not engage in such fundraising initiatives, but in this instance, it’s so important we felt we couldn’t sit idle on the sidelines and not help. The Chamber is pleased to support a meet and greet/fundraiser on Thursday October 22nd from 3:30 to 5:30 pm at the new Lake Sammamish State Park bathhouse to support the construction of a new playground structure this coming spring, 2016. While the State Legislature has awarded $750,000 for this important project for our youth and families; it will take an additional $250,000 to complete. Friends of Lake Sammamish State Park has stepped up to lead the community in raising these much needed funds and an anonymous donor has agreed to match up to $50,000 raised by the end of 2015.
We encourage you to join us for the festivities and helping make a difference for our community. A reminder, a Discovery Pass is required for entry to all State and County parks. If you do not have one as of yet, the Chamber sells these at the Visitor Information Center or you may pick one up at REI Issaquah. The Chamber is asking attendees to consider making a minimum donation of $50. Please RSVP to info@issaquahchamber.com or send donations to Friends of Lake Sammamish:
