Dealing with the stress of laying off staff\, worrying about money and the future\, kids at home until next school year\, and more! \n\n-\n\nDr. Joy Ippolito\, Social Impact Investment Director at American Family Insurance Institute for Corporate and Social Impact\, from Madison\, Wisconsin is an expert on mental health. Dr. Joy specialize in both family health and working with trauma victims. \n\n-\n\nDr. Joy will guide us through scenarios of the stress brought on by COVID 19. Sharing with us what other professionals all around the country are feeling and how we can protect ourselves and our families from the mental health concerns surrounding this pandemic.\n\n\n\nDr Joy has nearly 20 years of policy\, research\, practice\, and graduate teaching experience in urban education\, mental health\, child welfare\, juvenile justice\, and supporting healthy families and communities. Currently\, I use this content expertise to inform venture capital investments in early stage startups that support the healthy development of young people in the United States.\n\n\n\nAreas of expertise: K-12 education\, trauma\, mental and behavioral health\, social and emotional learning\, at-risk and vulnerable populations\, youth and family violence\, family and community systems\, runaway and homeless youth\, anti-human trafficking/child sex trafficking.\n\n\n\nDr. Joy received here doctorate from Harvard University in Human Development. She also received her masters from Harvard in Risk and Management. She has served as a professor at the University of Chicago and from 2016 - 2018 she led the Wisconsin Department of Children and Family's (DCF) response to sex trafficking of youth.\n\n\n\nToday Dr. Joy works with the American Family Insurance Institute for Social and Corporate Impact where she focuses on early stage startups that promote and support healthy youth development\, with a particular emphasis on mental-behavioral health\, physical and neurocognitive development\, and social and emotional learning.
