“Scenes of Beauty and Joy” joins “Strings of Change”
ISSAQUAH, Wash., Oct. 13, 2025 –The Downtown Issaquah Association (DIA) today announced a new photography exhibit by local artist Suzy Petrucci titled “Scenes of Beauty and Joy,” now showing at DIA’s historically hip “pop-up” art gallery at Historic Shell.
Petrucci’s work joins the acclaimed Strings of Change installation, which has drawn widespread praise for transforming musical instruments damaged by the bomb cyclone into stunning works of art by local creatives. Petrucci has worked to capture the visual essence of the Issaquah community on behalf of DIA for the past five years.
“Scenes” features two collections: a nature art exhibit highlighting tranquil and uplifting landscapes, and an “Issaquah Family Album,” a heartwarming series of 5 x 7 portraits capturing the smiles and joy of locals and visitors to DIA events over the years. All are for sale.
“My favorite nature images are printed on beautiful art mat papers and are selected because they capture energizing and comforting scenes of natural wonder,” said Petrucci, who owns Glimmerglass Photography. “The Issaquah Family Album celebrates the shared joy and connection that make this community so special.”
DIA President Christina Bruning said the gallery emerged in response to the growing need for exhibition space for local artists and strong community demand for more public art experiences. The Historic Shell Station, where the gallery is housed, is located in Issaquah’s state-designated Creative District.
