Flowers on Front - Spring is Here!

Thank you for supporting a cause that truly keeps on giving.

So many of you have joined me over the years in donating for Mother’s Day, remembrance, and other meaningful celebrations. Each contribution has helped nurture something beautiful. Each dollar donated is 100% committed to the Flower Baskets and is tax deductible. Every dollar is another bloom!

Every spring, I find myself eagerly awaiting the first blooms — a living reminder of your generosity — as they transform our charming historic downtown into the vibrant, picturesque backdrop we all cherish.

More about Flowers on Front™
Downtown Issaquah will be awash in color again this Spring as locally grown, vibrant flower baskets return to brighten the charming streets of the historic district—thanks to the generosity of the community and visitors.

Spring is in the air with daffodils poking through the soil and birds heralding the season, but it’s the Downtown Issaquah Association’s (DIA) beloved Flowers on Front™ that truly ushers in the vernal spirit. From May through September, the lush baskets—carefully cultivated by Squak Mountain Nursery—adorn light poles throughout the core historic district, offering a stunning display of nostalgia, color, and hope.

Flowers on Front™ is the highlight of our year for beautifying downtown,” said DIA President Christina Bruning. “Our downtown thrives because of the generosity of this community. These flower baskets bring joy to everyone who strolls through or spends time in our vibrant streets. It’s amazing how many people plan visits just to see them.”

The program has become a model for other cities, with neighboring communities seeking guidance on the rigorous maintenance that keeps the blooms thriving for six months. Donations support over 100 bountiful flower baskets and their care throughout the season. Many give in tribute to mothers for Mother’s Day (by May 1) or to mark other special occasions, while others donate simply to brighten their favorite town.

Hanging and removing the baskets is no small feat. Last year, volunteers managed 103 baskets, some weighing up to 100 pounds each by the end of the season.

With a donation of $50 or more, DIA will send a card to a loved one acknowledging that a basket has been gifted in their honor. All contributions are tax-deductible.
