SUMMARY:Arbor Day Celebration
DESCRIPTION:City of Issaquah is celebrating a big milestone: 25 years as a Tree City USA.\n\n\n\nEnjoy Arbor Day and Earth Day at the steward public lands with the City of Issaquah\, Lake Sammamish State Park\, and Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust. Volunteers will meet at Sammamish Cove\, a former dairy farm adjacent to Lake Sammamish State Park. It borders Tibbetts Creek\, a salmon-bearing stream\, to the Northeast. Boasting sweeping views of the Issaquah Alps\, the area was overwhelmed by invasive weeds. But Greenway Trust volunteers have worked hard to remove these invasive weeds along the creek\, and planted hundreds of trees to re-establish healthy forests where habitat matters most. Join us for this celebration as we plant native trees and shrubs\, remove invasive blackberry\, and build a new connector trail to improve park access.
