Take a New Year's Day plunge into icy waters from wherever you are this year as Polar Plunge 2021 will be virtual. Celebrate the start of 2021 from anywhere - pool, hot tub, bathtub or just with a garden hose!
Although we cannot plunge as a group at the park on New Year's Day, the park is open to the public on January 1. January 1 is a free day at Washington State parks so no Discover Pass is needed. Please note there will be no lifeguards on duty or emergency services. Plunge on your own schedule and send a photo from wherever you plunge to be part of a fun website slideshow.
The first 200 registrants will be mailed a souvenir Polar Plunge neck gaiter that doubles as a protective mask with an inside filter. As an extra bonus, plungers will also get a coupon for a free cup of clam chowder from Ivar's. Register at www.lakesammamishfriends.org/events.
The entry fee of $10 is a donation to Friends of Lake Sammamish State Park. Friends of Lake Sammamish State Park is a 501 c(3) dedicated to supporting, promoting and enhancing the park for the benefit of the entire community.
