Celebrate the Return of the Issaquah Rotary Club’s Run With The Fishes!
Join us as we bring back a cherished Issaquah tradition! The Issaquah Rotary Club’s Run With the Fishes is back—featuring a 5K, 10K, and a 1K Kids’ Fun Run—and we can’t wait to run, cheer, and celebrate with you once again.
For more than 26 years, the Rotary Run was a beloved part of Salmon Days, bringing runners of all ages through the heart of Issaquah as we celebrate the Fall return of the salmon to the Issaquah Creek. After a hiatus since 2019, we’re thrilled to announce the return of the race the weekend before Salmon Days—with a brand new location, a new course, and a fun new twist: a challenge to set the record for the most participants in fish costumes!
The race course (see map here) begins inside Lake Sammamish State Park, winding along the scenic shores of Lake Sammamish. Runners will enjoy a one-mile stretch along SE 56th Street, passing the soccer fields and Costco before crossing the Issaquah Creek bridge—wave to the salmon as you go! After a sharp turn back into the park, the final mile follows a picturesque trail along Issaquah Creek. Runners will cross the creek twice—so be sure to wave to the fish both times as they make their way upstream! 10K participants will complete a second loop, while 5K runners will finish after one lap.
