About Us
Tavon Learning Center believes that everyone deserves the opportunity to learn. That’s why we provide learning and community programs that build better lives for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are a model learning organization focused on outcomes – broadening life skills, building confidence, and forming community connections. Our six-acre nature-rich campus and innovative approach make us uniquely situated to fill the critical gap of post-secondary learning for adults with disabilities in the community.
Our programming areas empower human abilities: Daily Living, Garden, Functional Academics, Recreation, Community Connections. A core element of the learner’s experience is connecting with nature. We use real-life environments to deliver the programming and an experiential learning method that is supported by peer coaching from staff with a standard ratio of 2:1 learner to staff. We utilize community partnerships to enrich the programs, partners such as Outdoors for All, City of Issaquah, YMCA, Swedish Medical Center, King County Metro.
